Tyris

Tyris is a country in northern Auterra with impressive natural borders. To the west are the formidable Aneides Mountains, which seperates them from their western rivals, the nation of Drishera. To the north is the disputed city of Aneis, which sits as a valuable port on The Pale Sea. Tyris is also protected by the mountainous wastelands of Styrexia south, and the powerful Tyris river cuts through the plains, offering a natural boundary to much of the east. The country itself is a mix of plains, forests, hills, and swamps. Despite some exceptions, such as the Misinkii Forest and Kont Swamp, the natural boundaries surrounding Tyris has led it to be more secluded and thus civilized and free from wandering dangers seen on the fringes of other civilizations.

Tyris, positioned between the elves and beastmen to the east, and the Kree and Kontauran Elvesto the west, had in early years fell victim to many raids. The early kings decided to build a massive city to forever protect the populace, and the culture grew to be self-sufficient and distrustful. Particularly, Tyrisians did not trust their magic-wielding neighbors to the west – the Magi. With a growing war against the guerrilla like tactics of the Kontaurans, even Tyris and it’s military might was caught unaware when the Beastmen and Kree joined forces to attack. Only with the aid of the first party and the help from the Misinkii Elves were the Tyrisians victorious in driving back the Beastmen forces.
